Raja Rammohun Roy Library Foundation Raja Rammohun Roy Library Foundation (RRRLF) is a central autonomous organization established and fully financed by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. This organization functions as a promotional agency, an advisory and consultancy organization, a funding body for public library development in India. The Foundation works in close association and active cooperation with different State Governments and Union Territory Administrations through a machinery called State Library Planning Committee set up in each State at the instance of the Foundation. It has provided a wide variety of services and programmes to its members and others in the library community since its formation in 1933. The objectives of ILA are; Furtherance of the library movement in India, Promotion of the training of librarians, Improvement of the status of librarians, Promotion of research in Library Science, Co-operation with international organizations with similar objectives, and Publication of bulletins, periodicals, books etc. The association holds an annual national conference to provide a common forum to all professionals by holding these scientific meetings for discussion and upgrade the professional, technical skills and the related organizational issues.
